Alternative Gift Fair

This year, instead of getting caught up in the usual holiday madness, why not think about giving in a whole new way, at the Paramount’s Alternative Gift Fair? The idea behind the Alternative Gift Fair is that you do your Black Friday shopping with us at The Paramount’s own version of a pop-up holiday “Mall”. The “vendors” are all members of central Virginia’s beloved nonprofit community. Shoppers can visit from booth to booth and learn about the thirty or so organizations dedicated to energy, poverty, animal rescue, nature, the arts, education, seniors, innovation,  technology, and more. Shoppers can then support the non-profits’ missions by giving gifts in the names of their nearest and dearest.

At last year’s very first Alternative Gift Fair, shoppers brought in their entire gift lists and were able to complete them, truly one-stop and stress-free, with one swipe of the credit card. Each went off on his or her way with nothing more to handle than a tidy handful of beautiful gift cards and envelopes, ready to tuck into a stocking, drop in the mail, or leave under the tree. The Alternative Gift Fair, generously sponsored by Virginia National Bank,  Jack and Wendy Brown and Victor Millner happens Black Friday, November 29th, at The Paramount Theater, from noon until 7 pm, to coincide with the tree lighting on the mall and the Paramount’s presentation of Junie B. Jones in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells that evening.
