The Top Ten are gearing up to compete in front of YOU – the Live Audience!  The top ten will be vying for a chance to walk away with major cash prizes as well as professionally recorded demo sessions at White Star Sound recording studio. The winner of Paramount Idol will also receive a career consultation session with Red Light Management! The top ten final contestants will show off their singing talent to a panel of celebrity judges as they strut their stuff on The Paramount stage, with live accompaniment provided by Charlottesville-based band IN FULL (full bio below)!

Warner Brothers and Giant Records recording artist ANDY WALDECK‘s critically acclaimed CD “Chronicle Kings” was released with the group Earth to Andy, and has been featured on radio and in highly rated network TV shows including Charmed and Beverly Hills 90210.  As an artist, Andy has shared the stage with many major acts, including Stone Temple Pilots, Live, Fuel, Stained, Everclear, and 3 Doors Down.  Andy recently completed an international tour as bass player for Chris Daughtry (American Idol Season 5 finalist), and has co-written several of Daughtry’s songs.  He also recently co-wrote the new David Cook (American Idol Season 7 winner) song “Laying Me Low,” which is currently #1 in Japan and rapidly climbing the singles charts in the USA.

An alumnus of the esteemed graduate music performance program at the University of Miami, PERRY GREENFIELD started his career at Warner Bros Records in New York City in 2000.  In 2003 he joined the famed label Blue Note Records where he worked with artists such as Amos Lee, Norah Jones, Rosanne Cash, and Willie Nelson.  In 2009 Perry moved from the label world to artist management, joining Red Light Management in NYC and driving the career of Amos Lee.  He recently relocated to Red Light’s home office in Charlottesville to handle an expanding roster of artists and responsibilities.

You may recognize Dale from Outback Steakhouse. However, when he is not there, he is at home with his keyboard, writing and playing music. Dale truly believes in the power of music, stating that “Three years ago, I was faced with the possibility of not being able to walk again, and music got me through.” Luckily, Dale is walking, talking and SINGING.


Isaac Compressed ActionBorn and raised in Ruckersville – singing and playing the guitar have been the deepest passions in Isaac’s life since he was small. With a southern drawl, Isaac is a natural when it comes to country music. He says, ” I guess country music is not just another type of genre, but a way of life.” Be prepared to be wowed by his country lyrics.


Ann CompressedAnn is a veterinary tech who majored in technical theater.  Her theatrical talents shine when she is singing – a natural in many genres – Ann is sure to have a great performance in store for the finale contest!


erin action compressedYou may have spotted Erin before on the Downtown Mall, who claims she got her start in the music business busking for tips! She learned to play bluegrass at age 11, and is a recent UVA grad, majoring in music and psychology. You will not want to miss Erin’s larger than life voice!



kim action compressedA self-proclaimed “army brat” born in Germany, Kim has been singing since she can remember. When she was young, people used to ask her mother how “that big voice came out of such a little body.” Now that she is grown, her voice is still as big as ever, and she cannot wait to share her talent on The Paramount stage.


adar action compressedA natural on stage, Adar has been performing in Charlottesville and her home state of Massachusetts for many years. A native of Amherst, MA, Adar loves to read, write, cook, and garden, but her soulful voice will be giving the competition a run for its money on May 17.


frank action compressedAppropriately named, Frank Song, Jr can sing it all. Originally trained in opera, he has moved on to sing more modern songs. A current UVA student, Frank sings and plays piano for patients at the Emily Couric Cancer Center in addition to singing in the all male a capella group, the Academical Village People.


lawton action compressedLawton is a singer and humanitarian wrapped into one, a public defense attorney by day, and busker by night, Lawton is big believer in the power of music. While working with people who had HIV/AIDS in a small village in South Africa, Lawton would play guitar and sing for the villagers. He says that experience showed him how music can transcend cultures and bring tremendous joy to people.


Darlene action compressedBorn and raised in Palmyra, Darlene has tried out for American Idol twice and is currently a music major! Darlene is also no stranger to performing, she sings in talent shows, weddings, and at church.  She is sure to be a powerful force on May 17.


gary action compressedGary was born in Nebraska but has now spent most of his life in Virginia. A paralegal by day and thespian by night, Gary is very involved in area theater. You may have seen him on stage before with the New Lyric Theater, at Live Arts or most often with the Four County Players. Don’t let the acting throw you, Gary’s singing is a force to be reckoned with.

HOST + EMCEE: TARA WHEELER, Former Miss Virgina

What glamorous evening would not be complete without Tara Wheeler! Even though she now is a news anchor in Roanoke, Tara will again share the stage with In Full as the host and emcee of the event. Tara is the former television news anchor and reporter for the Charlottesville Newsplex (CBS 19/ ABC 16/FOX 27), and  University of Virginia basketball fans knew her as the in-arena host at every men’s home game.  Tara, who has a degree in journalism from Pennsylvania State University, was crowned Miss Virginia 2008 and went on to compete in the Miss America pageant (where she was honored as a Quality of Life finalist). She will join us again this year to host Paramount Idol – Season 2.

  • Student Rush Persons with a valid student ID or proof of enrollment are eligible to purchase remaining tickets to all Paramount Presents performances at a 50% discount at the Box Office 45 minutes prior to show time.
  • Youth/Child Tickets Youth/Child tickets are for patrons ages 12 and younger. All children must have a ticket (no "babes in arms").
