Blast From the Past: The Flying Karamazov Brothers

The Flying Karamazov Brothers performed incredible feats of juggling, theatrics, and improv on The Paramount’s stage last fall. The Paramount was honored to host the troupe’s last original member, Paul Magid, aka Dmitri Karamazov, who co-founded the troupe in 1973 and has stuck with it ever since, along with three other Karamazov Brothers – Pavel, Nikita, and Vanka. The troupe performed a variety of tricks, including one of their most famous: The Gamble! Audience members provided objects for the Brothers to juggle, and Dmitri, decked out in his yellow hat and raincoat, was tasked with doing the juggling.

Before the Flying Karamazov Brothers wowed our audience, they were kind enough to sit down with us to answer a few questions, such as why they joined the troupe and which tricks are their favorites. You can read the full interview here.

We are diligently working to reschedule many of our events that have been interrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. These events contribute significantly toward our yearly operating budget, and we know that we will suffer a devastating loss of revenue as a local nonprofit theater. Please consider making a donation to The Paramount.
