FOOD DRIVE
Throughout the holiday season, The Paramount Theater will be hosting a food drive to benefit the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.
About the BRAFB: The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank serves 25 counties and 8 cities on either side of the Blue Ridge through distribution centers in Charlottesville, Lynchburg, Winchester, and Verona. It provides nutritious food to 109,500 people on average each month through a far-reaching network of more than 400 community partners–food pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, and program sites like schools, community centers, and health care clinics.
Per the food bank, all food donations should be non-perishable, with no glass containers. Items in high demand right now include: canned vegetables, canned fruits, nut butters, beans, canned meats and fish, boxed pasta, pasta sauce, rice, cereal, canned soups and stews, macaroni and cheese, and cooking oils. Here’s a list of their most needed items.

ABOUT THE MOVIE
Buddy (Will Ferrell) was accidentally transported to the North Pole as a toddler and raised to adulthood among Santa’s elves. Unable to shake the feeling that he doesn’t fit in, the adult Buddy travels to New York, in full elf uniform, in search of his real father. As it happens, this is Walter Hobbs (James Caan), a cynical businessman. After a DNA test proves this, Walter reluctantly attempts to start a relationship with the childlike Buddy with increasingly chaotic results.
