Each Paramount performance is a labor of love, and volunteers keep the show going! All are invited to share in the excitement of the performing arts by becoming a volunteer.
Anyone who is interested in volunteering at The Paramount — from high school students, to business people, to seniors — is encouraged to become involved. The Paramount can use your help with a variety of volunteer opportunities, such as ushering, serving on committees, helping with artist hospitality, and assisting with mailings.
VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH
July volunteers of the month are Dick and Pat Faris!
Dick and Pat Faris started volunteering at the Paramount in 2008. They both have enjoyed volunteering at the Smothers Brothers, Jeanne Robertson and Municipal Band concerts. Dick’s favorite events are the Metropolitan Opera broadcasts, and Pat’s are the country music events. When they aren’t volunteering at The Paramount they are still actively helping the community by working at The Haven and delivering Meals on Wheels. Dick and Pat do take some down time during which they enjoy watching UVA women’s basketball, reading, and playing board games.
June volunteer of the month is Jean Turrentine. (pictured with her grandson Harley)
Jean has been volunteering at The Paramount since she moved to Charlottesville, over four years ago. She enjoys helping at many of the events, but absolutely loves the Metropolitan Opera broadcasts and working with the staff and other volunteers. With a passion for history, both the events and the places where they happened, it is no wonder that Jean loves volunteering at The Paramount!
A big thank you to our past “Volunteer of the Month” winners:
