Based on a Story and Characters of Damon Runyon
Music and Lyrics by: FRANK LOESSER
Book by: JO SWERLING and ABE BURROWS
Frank Loesser’s classic Broadway hit, Guys and Dolls, takes the stage at The Paramount for four performances on June 23-25. The Tony award-winning musical, with beloved songs like “Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat” and “Luck Be A Lady” is presented with live orchestra, sets, and costumes featuring Keith Phares as Sky Masterson, Elise Quagliata as Sister Sarah Brown, Chauncey Packer as Nathan Detroit, and Cree Carrico as Miss Adelaide.
Guys and Dolls is presented by Charlottesville Opera, formerly Ash Lawn Opera. The company has been presenting opera and musical theater productions since 1978. Each summer, over 140 theater professionals, singers, orchestra musicians, directors, and designers gather in Charlottesville to produce two mainstage performances at The Paramount Theater in addition to concerts throughout the community in June and July.
Guys and Dolls is made possible by Charlottesville Opera’s Presenting Sponsor: The Joseph and Robert Cornell Memorial Foundation. Additional support by Tessa Gowen Ader, whose support makes possible the Ader Emerging Artist Program, training the next generation of great voices, and Quirk Hotel.
Guys and Dolls is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. www.mtishows.com
