UVA Bands celebrates 20 years of the Cavalier Marching Band with their special Fall Showcase Concert! This event features performances by the Wind Ensemble and Cavalier Marching Band at The Paramount Theater on Saturday, October 14 at 7:00PM.
Repertoire includes “Kirkpatrick Fanfare” by Andrew Boysen Jr., “Meditation” from Thaïs by Jules Massenet, Waltzes from El Capitan by John Philip Sousa, “La Virgen de la Macarena” by Monterde, “The Orange and Blue March” by Alexander Spotswood Campbell II, as well as many fan favorites performed by the Cavalier Marching Band.
The Fall Showcase includes UVA Music Department faculty members Kelly Sulick, flute; Max McNutt, trumpet; Robert Jospé, Latin percussion; and John D’earth, trumpet. Guest soloists include Danielle King, soprano and Jamar Hicks, the emcee for the evening.
Ear protection is provided and parents are encouraged to bring preferred ear protection for young children. A small block of free community outreach tickets (general admission) are offered for those experiencing financial hardship and should be requested through the Paramount Theater Box Office. Community outreach tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. General admission tickets are $11.50 for UVA students and children under 18 and $26.75 for adults. A special block of VIP tickets are $127.50, which include reserved seating in the balcony as well as access to a special post-concert party in the Paramount Theater lounges.
