Discover the Many Paths to the Stage with Charlottesville Opera
The Sing Me A Story series continues with “Your Journey to the Stage,” an engaging program designed for students in grades 3-8. This immersive Arts Education experience pulls back the curtain on opera, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the diverse roles and journeys that bring this vibrant art form to life.
From singers and orchestra members to stage designers and technical artists, students will discover the many unique paths that lead to the stage. Some performers began with classical training, while others found their passion later in life. Through live opera performances and interactive learning, students will explore the works of composers like Bizet and Mozart, alongside insights into musical theater.
The program highlights the personal stories of the performers and backstage team members, showcasing how creativity, commitment, and collaboration fuel every role in the world of theater. Students will leave with a deeper appreciation for the hard work and dedication it takes to succeed on stage—and inspiration to imagine their own creative journeys.
