Stars of ABC’s enormously successful and Emmy-nominated Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood have had audiences in stitches for years with their hilarious, zany, and energetic antics. Promising to deliver in person all of the barely-controlled insanity their fans have come to know and love, Mochrie and Sherwood are teaming for an encore Paramount Theater engagement showcasing their extraordinary improvisational comedy with two shows on Saturday, May 24 at 6:30 and 9 pm.
These performances are sponsored in part by Crutchfield. Special Media Sponsors are NewsTalk 1260 AM WCHV and 97.5 3WV Everything That Rocks!
The public’s overwhelming response to Whose Line Is It Anyway? first prompted Mochrie and Sherwood to take their act on the road in 2002. The show, now in its fourth year, continues to remain among the most popular live comedy performances touring the country.
Using only their lightning-fast wit and suggestions from the audience, the pair creates two hours of original and increasingly absurd scenes. Truly an interactive show, no one present is safe as audience members are brought up on stage to participate in the fun.
Colin Mochrie’s first appearance on Whose Line is it Anyway? -- the British version -- was in 1991. His role on the American Whose Line got off to a rocky start when ABC wanted to drop Mochrie because they thought the comedian looked too old and not hip enough. Thankfully those involved in the show held their ground, and ABC was smart enough to see that talent and creativity were more important than “hip.”
Fans agreed, making Mochrie a popular mainstay on the American Whose Line stage. Mochrie tours with the “Improv All-Stars” in addition to his regular performances with Brad Sherwood. He has also been busy appearing in commercials as the Nabisco Snack Fairy.
Also a regular cast member on both the British and American versions of Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Brad Sherwood has credits including The Drew Carey Show, The Green Screen Show, The Smartest Guy In Town, Jury Duty, and VH-1’s I Love The 70s, 80s, & 90s. He’s also made over 100 sketch appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and been the guest host for E!’s Talk Soup.
Sherwood’s other credits include a season on LA Law, To Tell The Truth, The Newz, hosting The New Dating Game, and performing with Drew Carey, Ryan Stiles, and others as a member of the “Improv All-Stars.”
Tickets for An Evening with Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood on Saturday, May 24 at 6:30 and 9 pm are $48.50, $51.50, $54.50, and $75.50. Students of all ages may obtain half-price student rush tickets at the Box Office with a valid ID 45 minutes prior to curtain. Group discounts are also available.
