The United Kingdom's hottest and most successful rock show, One Night of Queen celebrates the music of Freddie Mercury and Queen. Performed by Gary Mullen & The Works, this live tribute concert features rebel-rousing renditions of Queen's greatest hits, such as “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “We Are the Champions,” “Somebody to Love,” and “Another One Bites the Dust” -- recreating the look, sound, and showmanship that keep the music alive!

One Night of Queen will rock The Paramount Theater on Thursday, April 17 at 8 pm.

Special Media Sponsor is Generations 102.3 and 94.1 -- Music for Your Generation.

For patrons wishing to make it a Paramount evening, Downtown Mall restaurant Escafé (227 West Main Street, 434.295.8668) is offering a special promotion: 10% of the restaurant’s sales on the night of the show will be donated back to The Paramount.

Since winning ITV’s Stars in their Eyes (a British TV talent show on which contestants impersonate showbiz stars) in 2000, Scotland’s Gary Mullen has been recognized worldwide as today’s leading Freddie Mercury interpreter. Mullen & The Works have received rave reviews from audiences of all ages, including legendary Queen guitarist Brian May.

A lifelong Queen fan, Mullen’s love of singing led to him join several local bands. Also a big karaoke fan, he found much enjoyment in visiting Glasgow’s Horseshoe Bar, where his uncanny performance of Queen songs wowed the crowd.

Mullen’s wife and mother secretly sent away an application to Stars in Their Eyes. He was offered a spot on the show after auditioning, ultimately going on to set an all-time record number of votes cast on the TV show, with his performance as Freddie Mercury polling 864,838 votes in the live grand final.

Seven years of touring has seen One Night of Queen build a reputation for regularly selling out large theatres and concert halls across the United Kingdom and Europe. Their appearance at the 2005 BBC “Proms in the Park” in Hyde Park, London drew rapturous applause from an audience of 45,000 fans. This year, Mullen & The Works embark on their first US tour, which takes them to more than 40 cities over an eight week period.

With a spot-on voice, persona, and portrayal, Mullen, his band, and their production recreate the excitement and atmosphere of a live Queen concert to unmatched perfection.

As stated by the British press, Mullen is “faultless” (Western Morning News, Plymouth) and “reproduce[s] the brilliance of Freddie Mercury ... as close as humanly possible” (Blackpool Gazette), with “lighting and stage effects” that are “full on ... Freddie would have been proud” (Evening Star, Ipswitch).

Seats are still available for One Night of Queen performed by Gary Mullen & The Works on Thursday, April 17 at 8 pm. Tickets are $23.50, $26.50, $29.50, and $34.50.
