Part classical, part pop, and completely unparalleled, The Ten Tenors deliver a dynamic mix of vocal power -- high-tone opera, jazz, rock, and classic pop; everything from arias to ABBA and Verdi to Queen. From the moment the group burst upon the concert scene in 2001, their international career has flourished.

Since then, the classically-trained, all-Australian singing sensation has enjoyed a relentless touring schedule with sold-out performances in Europe, Asia, and their native Australia, appearing alongside such artists as Rod Stewart, Andrea Boccelli, Alanis Morissette, Willie Nelson, Lionel Ritchie, and Christina Aguilera.

Following their latest album release Here’s To The Heroes, the Tenors bring their tour of the same name to Charlottesville’s Paramount Theater in an evening filled with engaging vocals and polished showmanship on Monday, November 12 at 8 pm. Special Media Sponsor for this performance is Yellow Book USA.

Highly regarded as a new musical force to be reckoned with, The Ten Tenors have already been seen by over 77 million people on four continents, selling out shows and winning hearts with their unmistakable charm and vocal prowess across varied musical genres.

The Tenors formed while the members were pursuing opera studies at university and performing at corporate galas during the mid-90s. In their final year, The Ten Tenors finally did what they’d always joked about -- create a show full of laughs, fun, cheeky camaraderie, and truly beautiful music -- and hit the road. Self-funded and absent without leave from opera school, this move was clearly a risk -- but one that paid off.

“It’s an unusual combination of voices, traditionally speaking, which is what makes the group so unique,” says Shannon Brown, the group’s musical director. "We find the challenge of balancing opposing musical and performance elements very exciting!”

The Ten Tenors’ new CD, Here’s To The Heroes, which held a spot on the Billboard top 20 classical crossover charts for 10 weeks, features the music of five time Oscar-winning film composer John Barry (Dances With Wolves, Goldfinger, Out of Africa, Somewhere in Time), who was also the album’s Executive Producer. Previously, the Tenors have had simultaneous gold and platinum-selling albums and DVDs, with their CD One Is Not Enough reaching the Top 10 on the European pop charts. The group recorded the theme song “Jungle Rhythm” for Disney’s Jungle Book 2, has been awarded “Best Artist Pop Meets Classics Award” by the Radio Hamburg Awards, and received Variety Group of the Year honors at the 29th Annual Australian Entertainment MO Awards.

As stated by the Arizona Daily Star, “It’s breathtaking listening to these 10 crystalline voices come together as if they were one.”

Tickets for The Ten Tenors on Monday, November 12 are $58.50, $61.50, $64.50, and $69.50. Half-price student rush seats and group discounts are also available.

Tickets are currently on sale online and through The Paramount's Box Office at 434.979.1933.
