Smoldering with passion and sensuality, Tango Buenos Aires has become one of Argentina’s great cultural exports. Recognized throughout the Americas, Europe, and the Far East as the leader in accurate and uncompromising performances of the tango art form, the company showcases dancers, a live orchestra (including two bandoneon players and a vocalist), dazzling costumes, and provocative choreography.
In a performance filled with "swirling, fast-paced tapestries of movement, laced with proud postures and sensual couplings," (The Washington Post), Tango Buenos Aires will perform at The Paramount Theater on Thursday, October 25 at 8 pm. Special Media Sponsor for this event is Yellow Book USA.
Considered the world's most seasoned and authentic tango company, Tango Buenos Aires traces the 100-year-old tradition of the sensuous international dance sensation, translating the seductive spirit of Argentina's soul into passionate movement. The troupe’s creative choreography features fast-paced rhythms and flawless coordination among dancers.
Their newest show, The Four Seasons, follows dancers Talia and Franco as they tango from Buenos Aires’ slums to the respected ballrooms and theaters of the city -- interpreting the history of the dance form from its origins in the streets of Buenos Aires through its evolution into the popular ballroom dance it is today.
Created by renowned composer and tango director Osvaldo Requena, Tango Buenos Aires originated from the "Jazmines" festival at Buenos Aires’ famous Michelangelo cabaret, the city’s most important club for tango. Over the past 15 years, the company has traveled all over the globe, making stops in cities across the United States and touring in countries as diverse as Germany, Spain, Greece, Mexico, Chile, Japan, Indonesia, and Australia.
Tickets for Tango Buenos Aires on Thursday, October 25 are $48.50, $51.50, $54.50, and $59.50. Half-price student rush seats and group discounts are also available.
Tickets are currently on sale online and through The Paramount's Box Office at 434.979.1922.
