Today The Paramount announced the addition of a big band favorite to the theater’s Fall/Winter Season. Returning to the theater for A Christmas Gift, The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra directed by Bill Tole and The Pied Pipers featuring Nancy Knorr will perform on Friday, December 7 at 7 pm.
The concert -- which coincides with Pearl Harbor Day -- will feature favorite holiday songs performed in the big band tradition. Orchestra leader and trombonist Bill Tole’s sweet, smooth, sentimental style perfectly compliments the energy of the world-famous swing-era ensemble. The Pied Pipers, under the direction of Nancy Knorr, display their vocal expertise in a partnership that’s been around since 1940. The sound recalls that heard at dances or on the radio -- bringing back memories of special times, holidays spent with family and friends, and an era of great music.
Tickets for A Christmas Gift with The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra and The Pied Pipers are $35.50, $39.50, $42.50, and $47.50. Paramount members will have the first opportunity to buy tickets, on Tuesday, October 9 at 10 am. Anyone who is not currently a member of The Paramount may include a tax-deductible membership contribution with their order to access early ticket purchasing.
Seats for the show will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, October 16 at 10 am. Tickets and further details may be found online at www.theparamount.net, or through The Paramount’s Box Office at 434.979.1333.
