Tickets for all shows in The Paramount Theater’s 39-event Fall/Winter 2007-08 Season are now on sale, with members of the theater having the first opportunity to buy tickets. While Paramount members may place their orders at 10 am on August 14, sales for the general public begin on August 21.
Anyone who is not currently a member of the theater may take advantage of the early purchasing period by adding a tax-deductible membership to their order. “Offering early ticket purchasing privileges is one of the ways that we thank our donors for the support they provide all year long,” explains Kristen Gleason, the theater’s marketing director. “Ticket prices alone do not cover the costs of putting on events at The Paramount, so we are especially grateful to our annual contributors. They help make both our public performances and educational programs -- including school time shows, workshops, and master classes -- accessible to the community.”
Continuing a tradition of star-studded and genre-crossing events, the new series opens with six-time Grammy winners The 5th Dimension, and includes such renowned artists as pop legend Dionne Warwick, jazz trumpeter Wynton Marsalis leading the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, country music icon Wynonna, folk music great Arlo Guthrie, bluegrass master Ricky Skaggs and The Whites presenting a Skaggs Family Christmas, celebrated Broadway composer/conductor/pianist Marvin Hamlisch, the incomparable and time-honored sounds of Ladysmith Black Mambazo, and the internationally-acclaimed Vienna Boys Choir.
In the meantime, tickets for August events in The Paramount’s Summer Season -- including performances with guitarist/singer Peter Frampton (August 22), country music artist Terri Clark (August 23), and poet/actress/activist Maya Angelou (August 30) -- are still available.
The complete schedule for The Paramount Theater’s 2007-08 Fall/Winter Season is available online. Tickets are available through the theater’s website, www.theparamount.net, and The Paramount Box Office (434.979.1333).
