Jim Brickman knows that no matter how wonderful the winter holiday can be, everyone needs a chance to take a relaxing getaway from the often hectic demands of the Christmas season, even if the escape is only for a few soothing hours. Returning to The Paramount for a special holiday concert on Thursday, December 14 at 8 pm, Brickman will be joined onstage by frequent guest and soulful singer Anne Cochran, brilliant young acoustic violinist David Klinkenberg, and vocalist Jake Simpson, a promising discovery championed by Oprah Winfrey whose spirited vocals can be heard on the iTunes version of the Brickman composition, “To Hear You Say You Love Me.”
Special Media Sponsor for this performance is Lite Rock Z95.1.
This year, the Platinum-selling recording artist, composer, and concert performer adds a fresh new “escape clause” to his holiday concert tour, which includes songs from Escape, his debut album for the SLG label. In a spellbinding evening of dazzling solo piano, vibrant vocals, and warmth and humor, Jim Brickman weaves together his biggest pop hits like “The Gift” and “Valentine” with “Sending You a Little Christmas” and other new and traditional holiday favorites. The array of new songs performed along with timeless classics promise a soothing evening of musical entertainment.
Brickman has designed this new concert to be a musical vacation into a world of song, special holiday memories, and treasured emotions. “I often learn things about my own music from people at my concerts,” he says. When a young couple confided that they use his recordings to relax and unwind after a stressful day, Brickman had a creative epiphany. “I realized that people need music for all kinds of reasons. Sometimes as a soundtrack for their lives, other times to magically carry them away when the world seems chaotic and difficult.” From the poignant moods of the holiday season to the release that comes from being free, Brickman calls his new holiday concert a “complete listening experience.”
Seats for Jim Brickman’s holiday concert on Thursday, December 14 are $49, $44, $41, and $38. Students may obtain half-price student rush tickets at the Box Office with a valid ID 45 minutes prior to curtain. Group discounts are also available.
Tickets may be ordered online or through The Paramount’s Box Office at 434.979.1333.
