  SHeDAISY

One of modern country music's most innovative and compelling acts, SHeDAISY has always been about the songs, hits such as  “Passenger Seat” and “Don't Worry 'Bout A Thing.”  The place Kristyn, Kelsi, and Kassidy Orborne have staked in the music world begins with Kristyn’s songwriting and its ability to probe the psyche.  The fact that the sisters are equally adept at placing those songs in intriguing and memorable settings is the rest of the multi-platinum equation.  Now the sibling circle widens as youngest sister Karli hits the stage while Kelsi takes maternity leave.  On tour in support of current release Fortuneteller’s Melody, SHeDAISY brings their musical storytelling to a Paramount Theater concert on Friday, November 3 at 8 pm

Special Media Sponsor for this event is Big Country 105.3 – Today’s New Country and Yesterday’s Favorites.

The Osborn sisters grew up in Utah singing and performing together, raised (as their father says) “on the three Bs -- Beach Boys, Beatles, and Beethoven.”  Their first album, The Whole Shebang (1999), launched SHeDAISY into country’s mainstream, and hits “Little Good-Byes,” “This Woman Needs,” “I Will...But,” and “Lucky 4 You (Tonight I'm Just Me)” all reached the Top 10.  The album spent 99 weeks on the Billboard Country charts, and achieved double platinum status.  Success continued with 2004’s Sweet Right Here, which went gold and yielded three more Top 10 hits.

Newest release Fortuneteller’s Melody is a nuanced look at life, love and redemption.   “This is about relationships,” Kristyn says. “It's about life and love and being on the road and being in a family and what happens when there's drama and trouble and tragedy. You can see the growth of the character and the life experience, and then you see the conclusion.”   The album unfolds like no other SHeDAISY recording.  “In our other records,” she continues, “we talk about each song being a little snapshot or a mini-movie, but this new record presents an entire story, from song one through twelve, with each bleeding into the next.”

As vital as the music itself is to SHeDAISY, the group is giving equal focus to their live show.  While the sisters chose to not tour early on, the group has now been working with the same band for two years.  “We don't have any bells and whistles,” Kristyn says about SHeDAISY’s performances.  “We don't have any sets that move … we have no explosions.  It's just a great show without all that stuff.”   Theirs is a self-confidence born of the rock-solid foundations of family and faith, and the knowledge that while they continue to learn, they have given their all to their recorded output.   “I think we feel ready to say it, to tell it like it is, and we're proud of it.”

Seats for SHeDAISY’s November 3 performance at The Paramount are $75, $59, $56, and $53.   Student rush tickets are available at the Box Office with a valid ID 45 minutes prior to curtain.   Tickets are available online or through The Paramount’s Box Office at 434.979.1333.
