The Paramount is announcing a change to the theater's fall schedule. The jazz concert with the team of guitarist, whistler, and greatest-living harmonica virtuoso Toots Thielemans and jazz pianist Kenny Werner scheduled for Wednesday, November 15 has been cancelled. Due to health concerns Thielemans is experiencing, the artists’ management has pulled all dates for the tour. The theater apologizes for the inconvenience.
Doctors have ordered the 84 year-old Thielemans to take the rest of 2006 off from touring. While pursuing such a busy schedule for many years would have exhausted men half his age, Thielemans seemed to thrive on the routine until recently. Now exhaustion has temporarily gotten the better of this world-class musician. His management hopes that by taking the fall of 2006 off, Thielemans will come back strong in 2007, because he loves to share his unique artistry with ever-increasing legions of fans around the world.
The Paramount is contacting ticket buyers to notify them about the cancellation. Tickets may be returned for credit towards another event in The Paramount's 2006-07 Season or a full refund. Ticket holders with questions should contact The Paramount's Box Office at 434.979.1333.
