For Immediate Release

September 26, 2006

Trisha YearwoodCountry music listeners have responded to the lustrous voice of Trisha Yearwood from the moment they first heard "She's In Love With The Boy" 15 years ago.  While a full-bodied instrument with bulls-eye tonal control, wide-open volume, and dynamic range, what Yearwood possesses goes far beyond pitch and technique -- three Grammys and back-to-back CMA Female Vocalist of the Year Awards only hint at her staying power.  The exceptional acoustics of The Paramount Theater will be a perfect match for Yearwood's singular performance style when she gives a concert on Wednesday, October 11 at 8 pm.

Sponsors for this event are The Executives of M·CAM and Embarq.  Special Media Sponsor is 103.1 WJMA Today's Country.

Hailed as "one of the finest interpretive singers ever" (Entertainment Weekly) and "Nashville’s uber-vocalist" (CD Review), Trisha Yearwood’s knack for making lyrics glow with believability is what has kept audiences coming back for more.  "The things that I bring to the table are, hopefully, songs that I believe have integrity," she comments'modestly.   Those songs, such as "That’' What I Like About You," "The Woman Before Me," "XXX’s and OOO's," "Thinkin' About You"” and "A Perfect Love" have brought Yearwood a string of nine No. 1 hits and ultimately four gold records, four platinum awardees, a double-platinum seller, and a quadruple platinum blockbuster.  As Yearwood simply states, "Singing gives me such joy. And it seems to give other people joy. It’s what I believe I am supposed to do."

Also performing on October 11 are up-and-coming singer songwriters Jessi Alexander and Jon Randall

Although influenced by such varied musicians as Hank Williams, Harlan Howard, Bonnie Raitt, Karla Bonoff, and Little Feat, Jessi Alexander is pure country.   Her musical knowledge is encyclopedic, but built on a foundation of American roots music. "I've lived a country song," Alexander says of her own experience.  As evidenced by the remarkably supple singing on her debut album Honeysuckle Sweet, Alexander performs skillful, direct music with a message that’s both honest and real.

From Jon Randall's start in Emmylou Harris' band (the Nash Ramblers) in 1990, he has collaborated with some of the industry's most renowned artists, such as Lyle Lovett, Patty Loveless, Vince Gill and Linda Ronstadt.  This two-time Grammy winner’s place in country music has been secured by his critically-acclaimed solo albums "Willin" and "Walking Among the Living" and his chart-topping song, "Whiskey Lullaby," recorded by Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss.

Seats for October 11's country extravaganza are $125, $69, $66, and $63.   Tickets and further details are available online, or through The Paramount's Box Office at 434.979.1333.
