Second City Brings "Truth" to The Paramount

The phrase "Second City" is virtually synonymous with improvisational humor and sketch comedy.  Founded in 1959, the troupe's alumni list is a veritable "Who's Who" of comedians that includes Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Peter Boyle, Mike Myers, Steve Carell, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, George Wendt, Chris Farley, Rick Moranis and many more. 

 Charlottesville fans now have a chance to see this legendary group at work when The Second City Touring Company makes a stop at The Paramount Theater for Truth, Justice, or The American Way on Saturday, September 30 at 8 pm. 

In Truth, Justice or The American Way, The Second City skewers American politics and morality, giving daring comic takes on everything from current events to relationships, politics, and family life.   Both musical and comedic, the show combines up-to-the-minute satire pulled directly from front page news with classic scenes and songs from the group’s vast comedic storehouse.  Hilarious, smart, and silly, Truth, Justice or The American Way keeps its finger on the pulse of a nation. 

Seats for Truth, Justice, or The American Way are $35, $30, $27, and $24.   In addition, there will be a post-performance discussion at the theater which is free to ticket holders of the evening performance.  Tickets and further details are available online or through The Paramount’s Box Office at 434.979.1333.
