Second Coasters, Drifter, Platters Performance Added

Today The Paramount announced that a second performance of nostalgia favorites with Cornell Gunter's Coasters,  Elsbeary Hobbs' Drifters, and The Platters has been added to the theater’s 2006-07 season. 

The new performance will be on Saturday, March 17, 2007 at 5 pm.  The original Paramount performance has been one of the top sellers during the theater's member sales period, which runs through Monday, August 14.  "Due to the high demand for tickets to this concert, we’ve taken the step to add a second show," said Chad Hershner, President & CEO.  "We want to do all possible to meet this response, especially since there’s been such interest even before the general public can purchase tickets."

The Coasters proved themselves the supreme comedians of rock and roll with hits "Down In Mexico," "Searching," "“Yakety Yak," and "Charlie Brown." The Drifters boast 30 chart records --  including "There Goes My Baby," "Save the Last Dance for Me," and "Under the Boardwalk" --  accounting for 200 million singles sold. The most popular vocal group of the 1950s, The Platters first hit the charts with "Only You" and continued that streak with four number one songs and 16 gold records.

Tickets for the new 5 pm concert are available at the same prices as the original performance -- $49, $44, $41 and $38.  Tickets to the performance are now available for Paramount Theater Members.   All ticket sales are final, and tickets purchased for either the 5 or 8 pm performance may not be exchanged for seats to the other show.  The new performances will go on sale to the general public along with the rest of the events in The Paramount's 2006-07 Season on Tuesday, August 15.   Anyone who is not currently a member of The Paramount may join during the member sales period and take advantage of early purchasing.
