A little bit of the Great White Way will hit Charlottesville's Downtown Mall when Broadway Center Stage brings their intimate production of Broadway Love Stories to The Paramount Theater on Thursday, May 4 at 8 pm.

A "valentine" of musical theatre vignettes, Broadway Love Stories features songs and scenes from hit shows including Annie Get Your Gun, My Fair Lady, Kiss Me Kate, The King and I, Oklahoma, and Phantom of the Opera. Broadway performers Suzanne Ishee (Carlotta in Phantom of the Opera, La Cage Aux Folles, Showboat, Mame with Angela Lansbury) and Matthew Shepard (title roles in Beauty and the Beast and The Scarlet Pimpernel, Wonderful Town, Les Misérables) will be the evening's musical chameleons, playing a dozen different characters and bringing to life some of Broadway's most beloved couples.

Broadway Center Stage has been performing acclaimed depictions of great musical theatre heroes and heroines for over a decade. The company is in demand with symphony orchestras and performing arts series across the country, and has appeared with the Saint Louis Symphony, the Calgary Philharmonic, the Florida Orchestra, the New Jersey Symphony, and Orchestra London. Venues and festivals hosting Broadway Center Stage include historic Thalian Hall, the Redlands Bowl, Great Waters in New Hampshire, the Vivace Festival in Myrtle Beach, and the Cape May Music Festival. Broadway Center Stage has made two recordings, Love Stories and Right as the Rain, featuring classic renditions of Broadway's most romantic songs.
