Dancers Open Call for Liz Lerman Performance

Area dancers have a rare opportunity to take to The Paramount's stage for the final act of the theater's 2005-2006 season! The Liz Lerman Dance Exchange (LLDE), which last performed in Charlottesville for The Paramount's 2002 groundbreaking ceremony, will return for a performance on Saturday, May 20. Local performers of varied ages are invited to be part of a weeklong residency that will culminate in the public show. No previous dance experience is required to participate.

While some area residents have already agreed to be part of the performance, additional roles are still available in the dances In Praise of Animals and Their People and We Are Still Crossing. LLDE is seeking performers in the following categories for three sections in those dances:

* 2nd to 4th grade girls or boys for In Praise of Animals and Their People

* fathers with daughters aged kindergarten to 3rd grade (do not need to be related, just father figures) for In Praise of Animals and Their People

* performers of any age and gender for We Are Still Crossing

Evening rehearsals will be held the week of May 14, and separate rehearsals apply to each section of the dances. Performers must commit to be present for the entire schedule for their dance, and may participate in more than one section if desired.

Liz Lerman Dance Exchange is a professional company of dance artists that creates, performs, teaches, and engages people in making art.
