Continuing the theater’s participation in First Fridays, The Paramount is hosting Twilight Garden, an exhibit featuring the work of Baltimore artist Micah Cash. His show at The Paramount will open on Friday, November 2 at 5:30 pm, and be installed in the theater’s ballroom (on the ground level adjacent to the grand lobby) for the month of November.
A suite of intimate drawings created specifically for this showing at The Paramount, Twilight Garden evokes the ephemeral nature of sound, movement, and atmosphere found in nature. Abstracted landscapes coexist with forms reminiscent of flora. Organic images pulse and breathe in layers of ink, charcoal, and wax. The works juxtapose the silent vastness of open land with impressions of its botanical inhabitants.
As stated by Cash, “I strive to use such a visual language to communicate the emotional backbone inherent in the human condition. It is my intention that these images speak on both a personal and biological level, provoking an understanding on what it means to be human.”
Cash graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina and has exhibited throughout the southeast. He currently lives and works in Baltimore, MD.
The First Fridays Exhibit featuring the work of Micah Cash will be open on November 2 from 5:30 to 7 pm. Admission is free. For more information about Cash and his work, please visit www.micahcash.net.
