Movies | 10/20/2018 | 7:00PM
There’s something strange at The Paramount. Who are we gonna call? Ghostbusters! This Halloween season enjoy the slimiest ghost movie of the century on the big screen at The Paramount.
Three odd-ball scientists get kicked out of their cushy positions at a university in New York City where they studied the occult. They decide to set up shop in an old firehouse and become Ghostbusters, trapping pesky ghosts, spirits, haunts, and poltergeists for money. They wise-crack their way through the city, and stumble upon a gateway to another dimension, one which will release untold evil upon the city. The Ghostbusters are called on to save the Big Apple.
Did you know?
- Almost none of the scenes were filmed as scripted and, in fact, almost all of the scenes had at least one or two ad-libs. Most of Bill Murray’s lines are ad-libs.
- The party scene where Louis Tully (Rick Moranis) mingles with his party guests (commenting on the price of the salmon, and so on) is not only taken in one continuous shot, but is almost entirely improvised.
- The “marshmallow” goo was actually shaving cream. More than 50 gallons was dumped on Walter Peck (William Atherton), almost knocking him to the ground.
