Live Events | 03/24/2018 | 4:00PM
The 2018 Virginia Festival of the Book, in partnership with the University of Virginia’s Lifetime Learning and Office of Engagement, presents a free conversation with UVA President-Elect Jim Ryan on The Paramount Theater’s stage.
Ryan, author of Wait, What?, takes on life’s essential questions in conversation with his friend and marathon running coach, Mark Lorenzoni. Ryan’s seemingly simple questions offer paths to thoughtful deliberations for readers of all ages.
This program is free to attend, however registration is required.
Praise for Wait, What?
“In these pages, Ryan distills several important questions we should all be asking ourselves—questions that promise greater clarity, compassion, wisdom, and in the end, fulfillment in our lives. Wait, What? is a welcome—and joyful—reminder that true wisdom comes from asking the right questions.”—Clayton Christensen, author of How Will You Measure Your Life?
“Ryan promises that asking five simple questions will bring clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and conviction. Why should we believe him? For one thing: he’s right. Why should you care? Well, why not read the book—all in one sitting, as I did—and find out?”—Angela Duckworth, author of Grit
“This beautiful book describes how to ask questions of others and ourselves that lead to a deep understanding about what matters most in life. The lessons are timeless, providing powerful insights that are relevant in all parts of our lives.”—Tina Seelig, author of What I Wish I Knew When I Was 20
