How to Get to the Paramount

The Paramount Theater is located on Charlottesville's Downtown Mall at 215 East Main Street, approximately two miles north of the Fifth Street/Route 631 Exit (exit 120) off of I-64, or one and a half miles east of U.S. Highway 29.

From Route 29 S and points North (Culpeper): Take Route 29 into Charlottesville. As you enter the city you will encounter a series of traffic lights. At the intersection of Route 29 and Barracks Road, turn left onto Barracks Road. Barracks Road becomes Rugby Road, and then Preston Avenue. At the intersection of Preston Avenue and Ridge McIntire Road, bear right onto Ridge McIntyre Road. At the light at the top of the hill, turn left onto Water Street. Proceed down the hill, and turn right at the first light (Second Street SE). Make an immediate left into the Water Street Parking Garage. Main Street, and the Downtown Mall, is across Water Street and a block north of the garage. The Paramount Theater is on the north side of the Downtown Mall, at 215 East Main Street.

From Route 29 N and points South (Lynchburg): Take Route 29 towards Charlottesville. As you approach the city, follow signs for Business 29 North, and exit to the right. You will be on Fontaine Avenue. Continue north as Fontaine Avenue becomes Jefferson Park Avenue and merges onto Main Street. You will go encounter three traffic lights as you move east on Main Street. At the third light, bear left onto Water Street. Proceed down the hill, and turn right at the first light (Second Street SE). Make an immediate left into the Water Street Parking Garage. Main Street, and the Downtown Mall, is across Water Street and a block north of the garage. The  Paramount Theater is on the north side of the Downtown Mall, at 215 East Main Street.

From US 64 W and points East (Richmond): Take US 64 towards Charlottesville. Leave I-64 at Exit 121 for Route 20 North (Monticello Avenue). Take Monticello Avenue into the city. Turn right onto Ridge Street. At the top of the hill, take the far right turn onto Water Street. Proceed down the hill, and turn right at the first light (Second Street SE). Make an immediate left into the Water Street Parking Garage. Main Street, and the Downtown Mall, is across Water Street and a block north of the garage. The Paramount Theater is on the north side of the Downtown Mall, at 215 East Main Street.

From US 64 E and points West (Staunton): Take US 64 towards Charlottesville.

Leave I-64 at Exit 120 for Route 631 North (Fifth Street). Follow Fifth Street into the city. Fifth Street becomes Ridge Street. At the top of the hill, take the far right turn onto Water Street. Proceed down the hill, and turn right at the first light (Second Street SE). Make an immediate left into the Water Street Parking Garage. Main Street, and the Downtown Mall, is across Water Street and a block north of the garage. The Paramount Theater is on the north side of the Downtown Mall, at 215 East Main Street.
