Two-time Grammy-winner, vocalist, and world-class music virtuoso, Taj Mahal has been playing his distinctive brand of the blues -- combining folk, jazz, zydeco, gospel, rock, pop, soul, and R&B with Caribbean, Hawaiian, African, Latin, and Cuban influences -- for more than 40 years. After more than a decade of large ensemble playing, Mahal is touring with his trio, including Bill Rich (bass) and Kester Smith (drums) -- musicians who have played together on and off for more than 30 years, and draw on a long, shared musical history.
