Founded in 1984, the Richmond Ballet
is considered one of the country's most
innovative and impressive regional
companies. Through promoting both
ballet's preservation and evolution, the
company strives to maintain the vitality
of meaningful dance repertory while
producing and fostering new works.
This mission is reflected in these two
performances, featuring masterworks
such as George Balanchine's Allegro
Brillante and Who Cares?, John Butler's After Eden, and Women and the Sea, the third Richmond Ballet premiere by Julliard-trained Twyla Tharp dancer Jessica Lang.
