A world-renowned orchestra playing on original baroque-era
instruments, The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment
brings out the very best of classical music as it was intended
to be heard. Collectively some of the most outstanding instrumentalists in their field, the players bring to the Orchestra
an enthusiasm second to none. The musicians lead the
Orchestra themselves, displaying a commitment, enjoyment,
and energy that translates directly into dynamic, refined,
extraordinary playing. With a pioneering music-making spirit,
the Orchestra encourages a warmth and involvement that
guarantees every performance will be an edge-of-the-seat
experience for performers and audiences alike.
This performance will feature soloists of the ensemble performing three works for woodwinds and horns:
Mozart, Serenade No. 10 in B flat (K 361) “Gran Partita” for 13 instruments
Mozart, Serenade No. 11 in E flat (K 375) for eight instruments
Anton Stadler, Trio for 3 Basset-horns

"The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment embodies what is best about the early music movement. There is no academic devotion to dry notions of authenticity here, just a band of fine musicians devoted to energetic, living performances ..."
