Miami City Ballet
Paramount Theater Spring Gala
Tuesday, April 25, 2006
8 pm
Sponsored in part by Elizabeth & Joe LeVaca
In its 19th season, Miami City Ballet is an acknowledged force in the international dance world. Under the direction of legendary dancer Edward Villella, the Company’s vision and style is based on the neoclassical aesthetic established by choreographer George Balanchine. The Company emphasizes masterwork of the 20th century and new work of the 21st century, while respecting the traditions of the 19th century. Rehearsed to perform not only with great speed, energy, and technical clarity, but also with an exquisite combination of force and delicacy, Miami City Ballet is a must-see, world-caliber company.
Funded in part by the National Dance Project of the New England Foundation for the Arts, with lead funding from National Endowment for the Arts and Doris Duke Charitable Foundation. Additional funding provided by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and The Ford Foundation.
