The renowned British cellist returns to the Paramount for the second “Steven Isserlis and Friends” concert. Honored by the Queen for his contributions to music, Steven Isserlis brings passion, tenderness, and eloquence to his performances. He plays with the world’s most prestigious orchestras and collaborates on stage and in the recording studio with such artists as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Sir Colin Davis, Christoph Eschenbach, Martha Argerich, and Joshua Bell. Isserlis will perform Shostakovich’s cello sonata and Janácek’s Pohádka (“Fairy Tale”) with pianist Ya-Fei Chuang. For Tchaikovsky’s sextet, “Souvenir de Florence,” he will be joined by violinists Jennifer Frautschi and Colin Jacobsen, violists Tim Summers and Nicholas Cords, and cellist Raphael Bell.
