This Kennedy Center musical production based on Katie Couric’s popular children’s book lets kids tag along with Lazlo S. Gasky as he begins his first day of second grade at a new school -- where the teasing and taunting begins because Lazlo doesn't look or speak quite like the others. Popular Ellie McSnelly realizes how tough Lazlo has it and risks being ridiculed herself to spend an afternoon with him. Together, they teach their classmates a valuable lesson not in their schoolbooks -- the need to give others a chance.
